Symptom

  • Getting error “Error: Invalid Setting in Excel Key of the Engines Section of Window Registry.(3433)” while creating a Desktop Intelligence report while using Text file as a data source.
  • Initially the Text file as a data source works fine in Desktop Intelligence but the error starts receiving once you try creating a DeskI report using .xlsx as a data source which is not supported with BusinessObjects XI 3.1.
  • The issue also occurs on .csv as a data source.
