1757225 - An Org Unit That is Visible in Active Area is Missing in Planning Area

You have observed that a particular org unit which is visible in the Active Area is missing in the Planning Area.

SAP Business ByDesign

Active Area:

1. Go to Organizational Management work center.
2. Access the Org Structures view.
3. Select Effective From Date as DD.MM.YYYY.
4. Click the Go button.

The Org unit XYZ is visible.

Planning Area:

1. Go to Organizational Management work center.
2. Access the Edit Org Structures view.
3. Select Effective From Date as DD.MM.YYYY.
4. Click the Go button.

The Org unit XYZ is not visible.

(where DD.MM.YYYY represents a date in the day-month-year format and XYZ represents an actual org unit ID)

The cause for the issue is that you might have deleted org unit XYZ in the Planning Area, but have yet to activate this change.

This can be verified in the Changes tab of org unit XYZ in the Active Area.

The system works as designed.

Once you delete an org unit, it will disappear from the Planning Area and after activation of the deletion, it will disappear from the Active Area as well. The deletion will be considered by the system only AFTER its activation — while it's deleted only in the Planning Area, system will still consider this org unit active.

If you want to reverse this deletion in the Planning Area, then you can use the Roll Back functionality. Be aware that a Roll Back reverts all inactive changes and it won't revert a deletion that has already been activated.
