1758591 - Crystal Reports for Enterprise crashes when reaching a certain amount of memory

Symptom

  • Crystal Reports for Enterprise crashes when including one or more subreports.
  • Crystal Reports for Enterprise application stop responding when it reaches about 700Mb of memory.

Environment

  • Crystal Reports for Enterprise 4.0

Reproducing the Issue

  1. In Crystal Reports, create a report based on any data source.
  2. Add a couple of subreports

    Note: regardless of having subreports, it was observed that the crash occurs when the client application consumes more of 700 MB of memory

Cause

  • This issue has been identified as a potential bug and escalated to Product Group under reference number ADAPT01650006.

Resolution

  • The issue is resolved in the following version and above:
       
    • Crystal Rpeorts for Enterprise 4.0
      • Support Pack 03 - Patch 3.9 
      • Support Pack 04 - Patch 4.1
      • Support Pack 05
