1759294 - Dependency Checker shows wrong results when opening report in Crystal Reports 2008

Symptom

  • Report shows references to deleted formulas and fields
  • Report displays errors with reference to non-existing formulas and fields

Environment

  • Crystal Reports 2008
  • Crystal Reports 2011

Reproducing the Issue

Note: Report has been created in an previous version and tables updated in database

  • Open report in CR 2008
  • Click on Report > Check Dependencies
  • Click on Report > Select Formulas > Record

Please note that this issue has been identified with the help of the dependency checker

Cause

This issue has been identified as a potential bug and escalated to Product group under reference number ADAPT01656961.

Resolution

Apply the following fixes for CR 2008 when they become are available:

  • Fix Pack 5.5
  • Fix Pack 6.1
  • Service Pack 7

This has also been addressed in BI 4.1 Minor Release
