1759730 - Error Message: Cannot change profit center XYZ; it is assigned to fixed asset

When you try to check or activate an Org Unit, system throws below error message:

Cannot change profit center XYZ; it is assigned to fixed asset

1. Go to Organizational Management work center.
2. Select Edit Org Structures.
3. Highlight the Org Unit.
4. Check or Activate it.

The cause for the error message is that the Profit Center attribute assigned to the Org unit XYZ is split into 2 time periods (DD.MM.YYYY to DD1.MM1.YYYY1 and DD2.MM2.YYYY2 to DD3.MM3.YYYY3). For Example (01.05.2012 to 31.05.2012 and 01.06.2012 to Unlimited) This can be verified in the Timelines tab of the Org Unit XYZ.

To resolve the issue, follow the below steps:

1. Go to Organizational Management work center.

2. Select Edit Org Structures and set the effective from date as appropriate

3. Search and highlight the Org unit XYZ.

4. Go to Timelines tab.

5. For profit center, replace the Valid To as DD3.MM3.YYYY3 from DD1.MM1.YYYY1 and select Enter key in the keyboard.

6. Now, go to Definitions tab.

7. Uncheck the Profit Center.

8. Select Check button and choose Check Selected and Dependent Org Units.
