Symptom

User is directly responsible for a account but he/she Cannot see any account in Accounts view of the Account Management work Center.

Reproducing the Issue

Follow the steps below to reproduce the issue:

  1. Login to the SAP Business ByDesign system with user ABC (ABC represents the ID of the user).
  2. Go to the Account Management work center.
  3. Go to the Accounts view.
  4. Show All Accounts and choose the Go button.
  5. No account is shown for the query.

Follow the steps below to check responsibility of the user in one of the account:

  1. Login to the SAP Business ByDesign system with user DEF (DEF represents the ID of the key user).
  2. Go to the Account Management work center.
  3. Go to the Accounts view.
  4. Show All Accounts and Find XYZ (XYZ represents the ID of the account).
  5. Select the Go button.
  6. Edit the account XYZ and go to the tab Contacts.
  7. Select the Relationships and Responsibilities subtab.
  8. You can see that the user ABC is directly assigned to the account XYZ.

Cause

The user is directly responsible for the account XYZ, but he/she has no Read/Write access for his/her employee ID.

Resolution

  1. Go to the Application and User Management work center.
  2. Go to the User and Access Management view.
  3. Go to the Business Users subview.
  4. Show All Business Users and Find ABC (ABC represents the ID of the user).
  5. Select the user ABC and choose Edit -> Access Rights button.
  6. At top you can observe the employee ID of the user is XXX (XXX represents the employee ID of the user XYZ).
  7. Go to the Access Restriction tab.
  8. Select the work center view ID BPM_Accounts.
  9. Below under access restriction the employee ID XXX is maintained under the org unit DEF (DEF represents the ID of the org unit where employee ID XXX belongs to).
  10. Here the employee ID XXX does not have Read/Write access due to which he/she cannot see any account in the query.
  11. Assign Read/Write access to the employee ID XXX.

Now the user ABC can see the account XYZ for the All Accounts query of the Accounts view.
