1767507 - Material Cost Estimate Does Not Contain Input Products As In The Associated Bill Of Material

You create a new Material Cost Estimate for material XYZ that also represents a Production Bill of Material (BoM).

When you execute or simulate the Cost Estimate, it does not contain all input items that are contained in the latest version of the BoM for material XYZ.

1. Go to the Inventory Valuation work center.
2. Go to the Material Cost Estimates view.
3. Create a new Cost Estimate via the button New and specify parameters accordingly.
4. Choose Estimate or Simulate in order to execute the Cost Estimate.
5. Expand the relevant nodes of the Costed Object list.

You are comparing the input items with the latest Production BoM.

1. Go to Planning and Production Master Data.
2. Navigate to view Production Bills of Material.
3. Choose the BoM ID which represents material XYZ.
4. Choose Edit to see the input items in tab Input Products.

You notice that one input product available in the Production Bill of Material is missing in the calculated material cost estimate.

The version of the applied Released Execution Model variant for the Material Cost Estimate does not contain the missing input product for material XYZ before releasing the Production Model and therefore was not effective at the time of the Material Cost Estimate.

The General Tab of the relevant Cost Estimate indicates the Version of the Released Execution Model variant ABC. You can access the Released Execution Model variant by following the hyper-link and expand the corresponding Make Operations, Produce Activities and the associated Input Products. Alternatively you can navigate to Work Center Planning and Production Master Data / Production Bills of Material / Production Models and edit the applied Production Model ID and access the Open Released Execution Models for ABC for the Bill of Operation (BoO) via the named button. Here you can see released versions and expand their Operations, Activities and their Input Products.

The Material Cost Estimate has to be performed for a Released Execution Model version which contains the expected input products. Make sure that the input materials are checked for the relevant variant in the named columns of the Production BoM for material XYZ.
