Symptom
Error "This driver is not configured for integrated authentication" is received when validating a connection in SAP Lumira Desktop against Microsoft SQL Server using integrated security.
Environment
- Windows 2008 R2
- MS SQL Server 2008
- SAP Lumira Desktop
Reproducing the Issue
- Open Lumira Desktop.
- Click New Document.
- Select Free hand SQL.
- Expand Microsoft.
- Select MS SQL Server 20## - JDBC where ## is your version of MS SQL
- Enter your log in information.
- Select the ADVANCED tab
- In the JDBC Driver Properties... box enter integratedsecurity=true
- Click Validate connection
Cause
This is due to SAP Lumira Desktop being unable to load the SQL JDBC authentication library, sqljdbc_auth.dll.
Resolution
- In Windows Explorer navigate to the directory <MS JDBC installation directory>\sqljdbc_<version>\<language>\auth\x64 for example C:\Program Files\Microsoft JDBC DRIVER 4.0 for SQL Server\sqljdbc_4.0\enu\auth.
- Right-click sqljdbc_auth.dll and select copy.
- Navigate to C:\Program Files\SAP Lumira\Desktop.
- Right-Click this directory and select paste.
- Restart Lumira and try to make this connection again.
- If the same error is displayed then copy the sqljdbc_auth.dll to the <SAP Lumira>\Desktop\jre/bin directory.
NOTE: This resolution is a workaround, is not officially supported by SAP, and will only work on Lumira Desktop.
There is no comparable workaround if the same error occurs in the Launchpad.
