Symptom
- BI 4.0 Web Intelligence document reporting off of an UNX Universe.
- Prompt defined on object field of INTEGER type in the database.
- Selecting INTEGER List of Value (LOV) prompt value results in the generation of a SQL statement where the value is formatted in scientific format and not integer format. Ffor example, 123 is expressed as 1.23e2.
- The scientific notation causes a degradation on some database sources.
- Tracing the database handling of the SQL query, it was observed that the value in scientific notation was interpreted as floating-point numbers, requiring the translation of integer fields to floating point for value comparison. This lead to significant degradation in performance for some database resources.
- SAP HANA 1.0 Revision 36 suffers from this degradation (but is resolved with Bug #31386 in current builds).
