Symptom
You get a warning message while creating a sales order stating: Item XX unidentified costs,There is no Inventory cost for material DEF in company ABC.
However you have already maintained the inventory cost for material.
Note:
XX represents the line item number.
DEF represents the ID of the material.
ABC represents the ID of the company.

Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Sales Orders work center.
- Go to the Sales Orders view.
- Find the sales order GHI (GHI represents the ID of the sales order).
- Select the sales order GHI and choose the Edit.
Error occurs stating:Item XX unidentified costs,There is no Inventory cost for material DEF in company ABC.
Cause
The error message was coming because inventory cost was not maintained when the sales order was created.
Resolution
- Go to the Sales Orders work center.
- Go to the Sales Orders view.
- Find Sales Order GHI (GHI represents the ID of the sales order).
- Choose the Edit button.
- Go to the Pricing Tab and select Item XX (XX represents the line item number).
- Select Update Pricing in the Total Pricing section.
- Save the document.
