1775411 - Different Error & Warning Messages Appear in the 'Point of Sale' Transaction

Symptom

Different error and warning messages appear in the Point of Sale transaction.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Customer Invoicing work center.
  2. Go to the Point of Sale view.
  3. Go to the Sales Transactions view
  4. Show All Sales Transactions and Find XYZ (XYZ represents the ID of the sales transaction).
  5. Edit the sales transaction XYZ.
  6. You get below error and warning messages:
    • Payment Item XYZ-XXX: Credit card authorization date missing (XXX represents the ID of the line item).
    • Sales Transaction XYZ: The customer DEF does not exist (DEF represents the ID of the customer account).
    • Sales Item XYZ-XXX: Tax group is missing.
    • Sales Item XYZ-XXX: Invalid currency.

Cause

The master data set-up for some different data is not correctly maintained:

  • Credit card information is not maintained in the customer account.
  • State is not maintained for the customer account.
  • Tax Data is not maintained for the customer account.
  • Tax Authority and corresponding Company tax Arrangement has not been created for the country maintained in the customer account.
  • No Exchange rate is maintained for the currency used in the Sales Transaction.

Resolution

Follow the steps below to maintain the bank, credit card, tax, address (state) information in customer account:

  1. Go to the Account Management work center.
  2. Go to the Accounts view.
  3. Show All Accounts and Find DEF (DEF represents the ID of the account).
  4. Edit the account DEF and go to the Financial Data tab.
  5. Go to the Bank Data subtab.
  6. Add the Bank details.
  7. Add the Credit Card and maintain the Validity Dates.
  8. Go to the Tax Data subtab.
  9. Add the tax details like Tax Number.
  10. Go to the General tab of the account.
  11. Add State in the Main Address section.
  12. Save the changes.

Follow the steps below to maintain Tax Authority and corresponding Company tax Arrangement for the country maintained in the customer account:

  1. Go to the Tax Management work center.
  2. Go to the Tax Authorities view.
  3. Create a new Tax Authority for the country maintained in the customer account DEF (DEF represents the ID of the customer account).
  4. Add Company Tax Arrangement in the Tax Authority created.
  5. Save the transaction.

Follow the steps below to maintain the Exchange Rate for the currency used in the Sales Transaction:

  1. Go to the General Ledger work center.
  2. Select Create Exchange Rates under Common Tasks.
  3. Maintain the exchange rate for the currency used in the Sales Transaction.
  4. Save the Exchange Rate maintained.

Note: With the above changes you will not get the error and warning messages in the sales transactions.
However the master data changes will not reflect to the older documents.
Hence as a workaround cancel the older documents with error & warning messages and re-create them.
