Symptom
The Dashboard Cache server is not displaying metrics indicating that caching is occurring.
Dashboard Cache Server is not creating cache files under the [path_to_installation]\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\Data\XcelsiusCachingServer\temp\[server_name].DashboardsCacheServer\parent\cache directory.
On occasion, the web application server may require a restart due to caching.
Environment

Resolution
Perform the following steps
- Log into the Central Management Console (CMC).
- Select "Applications" from the menu area.
- Right click on Dashboards and select properties.
- Place a checkmark in the Activate Dashboards web service query endpoint to optimize web service query requests statement.
- Save and close.
View Dashboard
- View a dashboard.
- Note Dashboard Server metrics reflect caching.
- Open the cache directory [path_to_installation]\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\Data\XcelsiusCachingServer\temp\[server_name].DashboardsCacheServer\parent\cache and view a cache file has been created.
