1777153 - How to increase the maximum java heap space for the Web Intelligence Rich Internet Application

Symptom

It is determined that the client side Java Virtual Machine (JVM) that is being loaded by the Applet (formerly Rich Internet Application) is exceeding the maximum heap space.  The default maximum heap is 256mb or 512mb which can vary depending on which version of SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.0 you are using.

Clients may be seeing errors like the following:

 java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

when viewing large Web Intelligence documents with the Applet from BI Launchpad.  This can occur when there is a large number of objects, hundreds or thousands, in the document.
