1779826 - Error: The specified user credentials are invalid. Specify valid user information - Data Services 4.0

Symptom

  1. Upgrading Data Services DS 4.0 from SP1 to SP3   fails  with the following error, on  request of the service user account password:

 "Error: The specified user credentials are invalid. Specify valid user information".

    2. The Windows Event logs list the following error:

 "Failure Reason: The user has not been granted the requested logon type at this machine".
