Symptom
Promoting one or more Crystal Reports 2011 documents containing Dynamic Cascading Prompts (DCPs) built on a Business View (BV) (using Business View Manager, BVM) causes multiple problems:
1. Promotion fails if LOV / BV is located in subfolder
The promotion of the BusinessView fails if the underlying objects (Business Views, Business Elements, LOV, ... ) are based in a subfolder of the repository. The following error message is displayed:
Promotion Status=Failure : Object number 99999 cannot be created under the given folder (number 99999) because it must be under folder number 98 either directly or indirectly. The server supplied the following details: Must create object under its defined root folder. |
2. Some LOVs get disassociated from the Crystal Report after promotion
After placing the objects in the repository root and succeeding with the promotion, some LOVs are disassociated from the Crystal Report. They appear to work correctly when opened in Crystal Reports 2011, but executing the report from BI LaunchPad, CMC or OpenDocument doesn't show the prompt group but an empty input field instead.
