1781015 - BI Launchpad Home Page - HTTP Status 500 or "Unable to initialize TldLocationsCache" error

Symptom

The BI Launchpad (BILP) home page returns an error, one of the following behaviours may be seen:

  • One of the following errors may appear in the browser:
    "An error has occurred: org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to initialize TldLocationsCache: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect"
    "Http Status 500-Internal Server Error"
  • This error may appear in the Tomcat stderr log: SEVERE: Cannot find specified temporary folder at D:\D:UMT_temp\
  • In the BI Launchpad logs, the following error may be seen:
    Unable to initialize TldLocationsCache: <TOMCATINSTALLDIR>/temp
