1789439 - Error Message: Only one default address permitted for org. centre XYZ () from DD.MM.YYYY to DD1.MM1.YYYY1

When you try to check or activate an Org Unit or Org Structure, system throws below error message:

Only one default address permitted for org. centre XYZ () from DD.MM.YYYY to DD1.MM1.YYYY1

1. Go to Organizational Management work center.
2. Select Edit Org Structures.
3. Highlight Org Unit XYZ.
4. Select Check or Activate.

The cause for the issue is that for the Org Unit XYZ, Main Address is maintained more than once for a same period of Time, which is incorrect.

Case 1:

If you have maintained Time Period for Main Address of an Org unit as below:

Main Address - 01.10.2012 to Unlimited

Main Address - 01.11.2012 to Unlimited.

So for the time period 01.11.2012 to Unlimited, the same address is maintained more than once. This is not allowed which is expected system behavior.

To resolve the issue, follow the below steps:

1. Go to Organizational Management work center.
2. Select Edit Org Structures.
3. Highlight Org Unit XYZ.
4. Go to Timelines tab.
5. Scroll down to Addresses Attribute.
6. Change the Valid To date of the first row of Main Address to a date which doesn't overlap with the next row's Valid From date. This will ensure the continuity of the address.
7. Check and Activate your Org Structure.

For Example:

Main Address - 01.10.2012 to 31.10.2012

Main Address - 01.11.2012 to Unlimited.

Case 2:

If you have maintained Time Period for Main Address of an Org unit as below:

Main Address - 01.11.2012 to Unlimited

Main Address - 01.11.2012 to Unlimited.

So for the time period 01.11.2012 to Unlimited, the same address is maintained more than once. This is not allowed which is expected system behavior.

To resolve the issue, follow the below steps:

1. Go to Organizational Management work center.
2. Select Edit Org Structures. Note: The effective from date should be Valid From date of the both address which should be same.
3. Highlight Org Unit XYZ.
4. Go to Address tab and remove the country which you do not want and press ENTER key
5. Scroll down to Addresses Attribute.
6. Navigate to Timelines Tab, you should see only One Main Address which is the desired address with Valid From: 01.11.2013
7. Set Valid From as desired then Check and Activate your Org Structure.
