SAP Knowledge Base Article - Preview

1789856 - Creation and view of information space in Explorer generates error "Failed to retrieve the data source details. Permission denied."

Symptom

In SAP BusinessObjects Explorer XI 3.2, view of information space generates following error messages:

  • It was not possible to open the Information Space.
  • It is not possible to begin exploration of the Information Space. (PS 50006)

In the error details section displayed: "The creation of the data source object tree failed."

Creation of new Information Space based on a UNV universe generates the following error messages:

  • Failed to retrieve the data source details.
  • The creation of the data source object tree failed.
  • After been deleted the files on the /tmp folder for BOE the error message become this " Permission Denied"
