1791695 - Universe Design Tool parsing Date as String in a SQL Server 2008 based universe while using ODBC connectivity

Symptom

  • SQL server Database field having datatype as Date is brought into Information design tool data foundation layer as String by default.
  • The object will not parse if we manually change the datatype to Date or DateTime.
  • Integrity check also fails to parse the object as Date.
  • Universe is using SQL Server 2008 ODBC connection.
