1796965 - BI 4.0 DB2 9.5 HADR/Hot backup restore capability

Symptom

  • Restore from Hot Backup of DB2 database lead to CMS hanging with following type of errors visible in the logs:

|2012 12 10 15:26:20:882|+0100|Information| |-|-|-||||||||||||CRC does not match BLOB for Object 3611

  • After applying SP05, patch 4.6 or patch 4.7 on a platform using DB2 9.5 and containing backups, the following error might occur:
Failed to retrieve cluster name from the database. Reason: DB2 is running with HADR enabled.
Ths requires that the CMS_INFOOBJECTS7 column of the table PROPERTIES be set to LOGGED.
That cannot happen because the current version of DB2 does not support logging of large blob columns.
The CMS will not start under this condition because database failover would corrupt the repository.
There are two options.
Option one is to upgrade the DB2 server to DB2 v9.5 fixpak 5 or higher, DB 9.7 fixpak 1 or higher or DB2 10 or higher.
Option 2 is to turn off HADR. (FWB 00088)
