1802828 - How to Deactivate Product Availability Check

Symptom

Removal of Availability Check Scope values maintained in the product master data is required, after deactivating the Product Availability Check in business configuration scoping.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
  2. Go to Implementation Projects view.
  3. Select the relevant project and choose Edit Project Scope.
  4. In the guided activity, navigate to the Scoping tab.
  5. Under All Scoping Elements, select Supply Chain Planning and Control.
  6. Choose Demand Management and Order Confirmation.
  7. Deselect the checkbox Product Availability Check.
  8. Go to Product Data work center.
  9. Choose Products view.
  10. Search for the relevant Product ID.
  11. Choose Edit and Choose View All
  12. Go to Availability Confirmation tab.
  13. Select the relevant Planning Area.
  14. Observe the field Availability Check Scope, values remain visible in the dropdown list.

Cause

  • It is not possible to remove the values maintained in Availability Check Scope in the Product Master Data.
  • These values are retained to ensure consistency in order processing and would lead to errors during sales order creation.
  • The system requires these values to validate and release customer demand for execution.

Resolution

  • This is standard system behavior.
  • Deactivation of Product Availability Check in scoping does not remove existing values from product master data.
