Symptom

Datetime format is incorrect in Crystal Reports Java Reporting Component

Environment

  • Crystal report 2008
  • Eclipse
  • Java Server Pages (JSP)
  • SAP Crystal Reports for Java runtime components - Java Reporting Component (JRC)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Crystal report 2008 > File > New > Standard report > Choose a DB table which contains a datetime format column.
  2. Select datetime format column and other column(s) for Fields to Display > click finish.
  3. In Design mode click view> Insert > Chart > place in Report Header > choose the datetime format column for On change of > click order > select for each second.
  4. Choose another column for Show value(s) > select OK.
  5. Crystal report > File > Options > Fields > Date and Time > Custom Style > Use YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss
  6. The X-axis of chart displays YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss format at Crystal report 2008.
  7. Create a new Crystal Reports Web Project with All-in-one installation of eclipse embeded with SAP Crystal Report.
  8. Create a crystalReport-viewer.jsp for the report created at step 1-6.
  9. The format of chart's x-axis is MM/DD/YYYY hh:mm:ss AM/PM in jsp.

Cause

This issue has been identified and logged under Problem Report ID ADAPT01664989.

Resolution

This issue will not be fixed.

As a workaround, create a formula field in crystal report 2008 and convert the datetime value to a string value with correct format.
