1804701 - Dump tran fails with error 4208 - SAP ASE for Business Suite

Symptom

Using the instructions from SAP note 1588316 , a dump tran fails with error 4208:

Msg 4208, Level 16, State 1:
Server 'SID', Line 1:
DUMP Transaction to a dump device is not allowed while the trunc. log onchkpt. option is enabled.
Disable the option with sp_dboption, then use DUMP DATABASE, before trying again.

Environment

SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) for Business Suite. All versions.
