1805810 - Partitioning a SAP HANA database table causes error: [2051] partition specification not valid

Symptom

Using SAP HANA Studio, when attempting to partition a table the following error is displayed:

SAP DBTech JDBC: [2048]: column store error: fail to alter partition: [2051] partition specification not valid;The column type of attribute ZBIGINT is not allowed in a partition specification.

Could not execute 'alter table "MYSCHEMA"."TESTPARTITION" partition by range(ZBIGINT) ( partition 5 <= VALUES < 7, ...'
