Symptom

Getting "Route permission denied" error message from SAProuter when a SAP support engineer is connecting via to a customer server via SAProuter using a password stored in the secure area.

Reproducing the Issue

The customer has set up SAProuter with a password and configured the SAPROUTAB according to instructions on the SAP Support Portal.

The SAP support engineer connects remotely to the customer system using the SAProuter password and gets the error message.

Cause

The password is too long.

There is a limit of 8 characters for the SAProuter password.

Resolution

Change the password to a string no longer than 8 characters.
