1817739 - Error Message: DD.MM.YYYY to DD.MM.YYYY; business residence XYZ () must be below a company, While Activating the Org Structure

Symptom

You have created a new Org Structure with Org Unit ABC as Company which is a top level Org Unit and Org Unit XYZ is child of ABC, where XYZ is Business Residence. Highlight the Org Unit XYZ, select Activate button, choose Selected and Dependent Org Units.

DD.MM.YYYY to DD.MM.YYYY; business residence XYZ () must be below a company. Although it is also possible to flag both properties on the same org unit, it is not recommended to do so. The business residence should be flagged on an org unit below the company.

Cause

Org Unit XYZ is inactive and flagged as Business Residence and it is below ABC which is inactive Company. You can not only activate the sub unit because there is no active Company above it. You need to include the Company in the check.

Resolution

Hence, you need check or activate from the top level Org Unit. I.e,. highlight Org Unit ABC and then, check or activate the Org Structure.

This is general system behavior.

When you are creating an Org Structure for the first time in the system, you can check the consistency/activation from the Company level only but not from Business Residence level.

If you want to check the consistency of the Org Structure, you can highlight the Org Unit (top level) and use any options under Check button.

Note: You are allowed to activate the individual low level org units once you activate the Org Structure for the first time.
