1820411 - How to Add a Customized Party Role to your Sales Document Using Account Responsibility

Symptom

You have defined a new party role in the activity Involved Parties for Sales, but it is not showing up as default for selection.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Cause

You would need to define your party role in fine-tuning and define an Account Responsibility rule.

Resolution

To define the party role in fine-tuning:

  1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
  2. Go to the Overview work center view.
  3. Find and open the activity Party Role Definition.
  4. Add a party role and tick the box Responsibility Role.

Next, you will need to define an account responsibility rule in order to add your party role to the specific account or all accounts

  1. Go to the Application and User Management work center.
  2. Go to the Task Distribution work center view.
  3. Go to the Employee Work Distribution sub-view.
  4. Select Account Responsibility by Party Role.
  5. You can now define a specific employee for your party role.

Finally, you need to add the party role to the fine-tuning activity Involved Parties for Sales:

  1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
  2. Access the Overview work center view.
  3. Find and open the activity Involved Parties for Sales.
  4. Add the party role
    • If you want to trigger an error message in your sales order in case this party is no filled by the user, please tick the Mandatory check box.
