1822590 - Backup with HP Data Protector fails - SAP ASE for Business Suite

Symptom

  • The Sybase ASE database backup attempt is failing with HP Data Protector.
  • The backup-server errorlog is containing entries like:

    Unable to open API library for device 'ob2syb::<dump_name>'.
    Library path is '/sybase/<sid>/ASE-15_0/lib/libob2syb.so'. dlopen()
    returned: Code=0, Message='/sybase/<sid>/ASE-15_0/lib/libob2syb.so'
    is not a valid load module: Bad magic number
