1829761 - How-To: Configure Location of BI4.0 Web Application Log Files

Symptom

The Business Intelligence (BI) 4.0 web applications (BOE, AdminTools, dswsbobje, etc.) write log files to directories. By default, these directories are created in the home directory of the user account being used to run the Java application server.

Examples:

  • Tomcat running as "Administrator" user on Windows Server 2008 will create the SBOPWebApp log directories to C:\Users\Administrator
  • Tomcat running as LOCALSYSTEM user account on Windows Server 2003 will create SBOPWebApp log directories to C:\
  • Tomcat running as "bi4user" on Unix/Linux will create SBOPWebApp log directories to /home/bi4user
