1829800 - Unable to read component versions : System info does not open

Symptom

Nullpointer exception occurs when invoking system info or component info pages at http://<host>:<port>/sap/monitoring/SystemInfo or http://<host>:<port>/sap/monitoring/ComponentInfo. Server default traces contains the following exception:
