1832053 - Error "GwIConnect: GwConnect to <Servername> / ,Port> failed (rc=NIECONN_REFUSED)" whitin BW logs

Symptom

  • Intermittent issues and various error messages can appears
  • When by chance the request is made to between the servers with the correct port number open on the firewall it is successful otherwise an error message is raised
  • The failure will generate a short dump on the ABAP (BW or R/3) application server side then can be matched to the ip address of the client software
  • This is found in BW tracing and telnet testing can also confirm that
