1833311 - Foreign Currency Remeasurement Run Error

You ran a Foreign Currency Remeasurement Run and got the following error message:

"During run for company ABC, set of books DEF, the error 'Application runtime exception; report a case' occurred."

(ABC is the company ID.)

(DEF is the set of books ID.)

You can create Foreign Currency Remeasurement Runs for payables, receivables and cash.

In the Payables work center (Foreign Currency Remeasurement Runs for payables):

1. Go to the Payables work center.
2. Go to the Foreign Currency Remeasurement Runs subview in the Periodic Tasks view.
3. Click New and select Foreign Currency Remeasurement Run.
4. Select the relevant Company, Set of Books and Period/Year.
5. Select closing step as 020 - Closing entries.
6. Click Start Now.
7. After few seconds you'll see the messages "Run XXX" finished with errors and also "Your entries have been saved" (XXX is the run ID).
8. Click Display Log.
9. Navigate to the Messages tab.

You get the message  "During run for company ABC, set of books DEF, the error 'Application runtime exception; report a case' occurred."

In Receivables work center (Foreign Currency Remeasurement Runs for receivables):

1. Go to the Receivables work center.
2. Go to the Foreign Currency Remeasurement Runs subview in the Periodic Tasks view.
3. Search and select the relevant Run ID.
4. Click View
5. Navigate to the Messages tab.

You get the message  "During run for company ABC, set of books DEF, the error 'Application runtime exception; report a case' occurred."

In the Payment Management work center (Foreign Currency Remeasurement Runs for cash):

1. Go to the Payment Management work center.
2. Go to the Foreign Currency Remeasurement Runs subview in the Periodic Tasks view.
3. Search and select the relevant Run ID.
4. Click View
5. Navigate to the Messages tab.

You get the message  "During run for company ABC, set of books DEF, the error 'Application runtime exception; report a case' occurred."

There are two reasons for this issue:

1. The period you are running the Foreign Currency Remeasurement Run should be open for closing step '020 - Closing entries'.
2. You have not maintained the relevant G/L Accounts and the required currencies in the Business configuration work center under Exchange Rate Differences tab.

For the involved Period, set the allowed step as '020 - Closing entries':

1. Go to the General Ledger work center.
2. Go to the Open and Close Periods subview in the Common Tasks view.
3. Select Company ABC, Set of Books DEF and the Period.
4. Open the period for closing step '020 - Closing entries'.

Maintain the relevant G/L Accounts under Exchange Rate Differences tab in Business Configuration:

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to the Implementation Projects View.
3. Click Open activity list.
4. Click the Fine-Tune tab.
5. Search for the Charts of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account determination activity.
6. Click Open.
7. Select Account Payable/ Account Receivable/ Cash under Account Determination.
8. Select the Account Determination Profile.
9. Navigate to the Exchange Rate Differences tab.
10. Click Add Row to maintain G/L Accounts for Gain from Foreign Currency Remeasurement and Loss from Foreign Currency Remeasurement. 
11. In case of Cash Ledger, add the relevant Currency and maintain the relevant G/L Accounts.
