1833558 - Dimension Processing Hangs with message "Waiting for server response"

Symptom

The customer has made some changes to a dimension and tries to process the dimension.  The process hangs with the message “Waiting for server response”.  The following are the key facts about the problem:

  • The problem is specific to one dimension
  • The dimension is not new and the same user was able to process the dimension successfully shortly before the problem appeared.
  • Reversing the last changes does not resolve the problem
  • The process starts in BW side but it appears to continue without finishing.
  • There are no system or application errors or any dumps.
