Symptom

Crystal Reports takes a long time to refresh.

The queries running at the backend causes reports take long time.

Reproducing the Issue
-
Create a database with more than 1 schema owner.

Create a new crystal report using a native connection and connecting to the database using a schema owner login.
-
Drag and drop some fields into the database.
-
The report takes long time to refresh.
-
Trace Oracle; the trace should show the SQL query run in the back end from Crystal Reports.
Cause
The issue was raised to the Product Group under ID ADAPT01490944.
Resolution
The behaviour is by design.
Workaround:
The number of queries that are being executed at the backend can be reduced by un-checking the option Verify On First Refresh and Automatic Smart Linking under the option File -> Options -> Database.
