1840773 - Resource Adapter not available in PI

Symptom

  • In a PI system some Resource Adapters become unavailable.
  • These are located in the NWA -> Configuration -> Infrastructure -> Java System Properties -> Application Resources -> Show: Resource Adapters.
  • inboundRA, amongst others, may become unavailable.
  • You may find in the defaultTrace file the following error:

(Failed in component: sap.com/tc~sapjra~temp, BC-MID-CON-JCO) Cannot start ResourceAdapter "inboundRA" from application
"sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.idoc.sapjra.inboundRA".
[EXCEPTION]
com.sap.engine.services.deploy.container.DeploymentException: (Failed in component: sap.com/tc~sapjra~temp, BC-MID-CON-JCO) Cannot start
ResourceAdapter "inboundRA" from application "sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.idoc.sapjra.inboundRA".
Caused by: javax.resource.spi.ResourceAdapterInternalException: Couldn't start ResourceAdapter Servers with properties {
jco.server.gwhost=<host>, jco.server.progid=XI_IDOC_DEFAULT_<SID>, jco.server.repository_map=--------------------------------------------;,
jco.server.gwserv=sapgw<instance number>, destination.name=XI_IDOC_DEFAULT_DESTINATION}, cause: JCo server is
currently running. Current server state is STOPPING
