1840926 - ServletException 'The provided sidadm root is incorrect' when upgrading HANA using SUM

Symptom

Starting the upgrade via the lifecycle management perspective from the HANA Studio results into a 'Web Server Error':

On the HANA appliance, the log file /usr/sap/<SID>/SUM/log/lmtp.log contains the following error:

javax.servlet.ServletException: javax.servlet.ServletException: The provided sidadm root is incorrect.

Additionally, when SUM is started, the script returns a password prompt, requesting the password of the root user:

hdbnode1:/usr/sap/MDB/SUM> ./sum.sh
