1845068 - ICM does not connect to the JAVA stack in dual-stack systems

Symptom

  • After updating the kernel to release 7.20 as a downward compatible kernel, even though the J2EE engine is up and running, requests sent to the ICM to be processed by the JAVA stack fail with error:

"HTTP 404 - Not Found" / "service cannot be reached"

  • In the ICM trace (dev_icm), the following entry is shown:

Parameter system/type has value: "ABAP"

  • In transaction SMICM -> Goto -> HTTP Plug-In -> Application server -> Display data,
    the following is shown:

    ABAP Server operational             = TRUE
    AS Java Server state                   = active
    ICM attached to AS Java (SF)     = FALSE (0 active nodes) <<<<<
    Default root access handler         = ABAP
    URL Prefix Table loaded               = TRUE
