1852863 - Error: Cannot create dimension file(MEASURES). Retrieving data might not work when using Dimension formulas - BPC

Symptom

  • The dimension formulas in one application ceased working all of a sudden.
  • If members calculated using formulas are queried (via EVDRE or direct MDX query), no values appear
  • Problem in the translation of function names in member tables to the actual MDX formulas in the dimension tables. There are a lot of errors in tblLogs pointing towards ADOMDCONNECTION class

    System.Exception: Cannot create dimension file(MEASURES). Retrieving data might not work.    
    Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient.AdomdErrorResponseException: The OWNERSHIP cube either does not exist or has not been processed.   
    Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient.AdomdErrorResponseException: The FINANCE cube either does not exist or has not been processed.   
    System.Exception: Cannot create dimension file(MEASURES). Retrieving data might not work.  
    Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient.AdomdErrorResponseException: The FINANCE cube either does not exist or has not been processed.
