Symptom

Warning messages are received in the Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) errorlog every 10 minutes and the ASE server might be in a hung state:

Warning: Alarm Service for Timer non-operational.
If this message generated multiple times, report to support and restart the server (alarminterval=-7001).
Warning: Alarm Service for Timer non-operational.
If this message generated multiple times, report to support and restart the server (alarminterval=-13001).
Warning: Alarm Service for Timer non-operational.
If this message generated multiple times, report to support and restart the server (alarminterval=-19001).
