Symptom
System throws error message while creating a New Inventory Change in Externally Managed Location document.
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Third-Party Logistics work center.
- Go to the 3PL Inventory Management view and select Inventory Notifications sub-view.
- Select the New button and choose the option New Inventory Change in Externally Managed Location from the drop down.
- In the opened window, fill in the required fields under the General tab.
- Go to the Line Items tab, select the Add Row button, enter the Item ID, Reason as Transfer and Movement Direction : Inventory Issue and other required details.
- Select the Check button, system throws the error message: Transfer Group ID Missing
Cause
While creating the New Inventory Change in Externally Managed Location, when you enter the reason code as Transfer, it means that you are doing a Change of Stock for which you need to enter the Item Group ID & enter either the identified stock ID / select the restricted indicator to do the stock change.
Resolution
- Go to the Third-Party Logistics work center.
- Go to the 3PL Inventory Management view and select Inventory Notifications sub-view.
- Select the New button and choose the option New Inventory Change in Externally Managed Location from the drop down.
- In the opened window, fill in the required fields under the General tab.
- Go to the Line Items tab, select the Add Row button, enter the Item ID, Reason as Transfer and Movement Direction : Inventory Issue, enter values for Item Group ID column and fill in Product & Quantity columns too.
- Now, select Add Row button again, enter Item ID , Reason - Transfer, Movement Direction - Inventory Receipt. Here you have to enter the same values for Item Group ID which you have entered in the previous line item ID and fill in Product & Quantity columns too.
- For the second line item, you have to either select the stock as restricted or enter a identified stock ID as you are doing a change of stock.
- Later perform Check operation, the notification document will be consistent.
