1855974 - 'Adding item not possible; accounts are already assigned' Error While Adding an Item to a Financial Reporting Structure

Error is raised while trying to add a new item to a Financial Reporting Structure:

'Adding item not possible; accounts are already assigned'

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to Overview view.
3. Search and open the activity Charts of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account Determination.
4. Click Edit financial reporting structures.
5. Select the respective Key ID reference and click Edit.
6. Under Financial Reporting Structure, expand the lines each one at a time until you reaches the first line which contains accounts assigned to it (Structure Elements: Accounts).
7. Select this line and click Add Item.
8. Error message is thrown:

'Adding item not possible; accounts are already assigned'

The error is displayed because the Add Item button was clicked.

The correct way to include the new accounts created is via Actions -> Assign Account, as follows:

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to Overview view.
3. Search and open the activity Charts of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account Determination.
4. Click Edit financial reporting structures.
5. Select the respective Key ID reference and click Edit.
6. Under Financial Reporting Structure, expand the lines each one at a time until you reaches the first line which contains accounts assigned to it (Structure Elements: Accounts).
7. Select this line and click Actions -> Assign Account.
8. In the Assign Account popup window, select the desired account by marking the checkbox.
9. Click OK.
10. Save your changes.
