1862291 - "XRS4940: Service: An unexpected error has occurred in the following Afaria component: XSActiveDirectoryMonitor.exe." and Afaria Server Service will not start

Symptom

  • After installing Service Pack 02 for Afaria 7, the Afaria Server Service will not start.
  • The Windows Event logs show: XRS4940: Service: An unexpected error has occurred in the following Afaria component: XSActiveDirectoryMonitor.exe.
  • If the XSActiveDirectoryMonitor.exe is run manually from the Afaria Bin directory you will get a notification saying that .Net 4 needs to be installed.
