Symptom

  • Refreshing a Webi document errors out.
  • Webi document is based on an Excel Dataprovider.
  • The following error is thrown:
    Unable to create or update the Excel personal data provider: an internal error occured. (IES 10884)
  • In the Adaptive Processing Server logs, the following error is seen:
    unable to retrieve the DataSourceInfo from the DataSourceSpec
    java.lang.NullPointerException: while trying to invoke the method com.businessobjects.ds.excel.IExcelDataSource.getInfo(byte[], com.businessobjects.ds.excel.DataSourceSpec) of an object loaded from field com.businessobjects.ds.excel.corba.ExcelDataSourceServant._delegate of an object loaded from local variable '<0>'
