How to maintain pricing components using a fixed amount instead of a percentage.

In a sales document, such as a sales order, it is desired to maintain a product discount using a fixed amount.

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to the Implementation Projects view.
3. Select the relevant project.
4. Select Activity List
5. Go to the Fine tune phase.
6. Select and open the fine tuning activity Configure Price Strategy.
7. Select Pricing Procedure.

It is only possible to maintain the product discounts in percentage for the Product Discount.

In the current version, it is possible to maintain the product discount only in percentages. In the fine tuning it is not possible to change the product discounts from percentage to fixed amount.

It is however possible to select fixed amount for the Overall Discount. It is not possible to mix both options (fixed amount and percentage) in sales documents, only one selection is supported at a time.

Please note that once the Overall Discount is used, it cannot be changed anymore.

However, with the release 2008 (August, 2020), a feature to Maintain Absolute and Percentage based Overall Discounts was enabled.

This feature can be scoped by activating the scoping question through the following steps:

1. Navigate to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to the Implementation Projects view.
3. Open the current Implementation Project.
4. Click on Edit Project Scope.
5. Click on the Next button until the step 4 "Questions".
6. Expand the General Business Data scoping Element.
7. Expand the Product and Service Pricing view.
8. Click on Sales Price Specifications.
9. Activate the Scoping Question "Do you want additional discounts at document level?".

Once the question is scoped, it will be possible to add an Additional Overall Discount with an absolute amount through the Configure Price Strategy activity.
