1871682 - You get Backend Processing Error While Changing, Saving or Releasing Price Lists or Discount Lists

When working with the price lists or discount lists, there could be Exception or Backend Processing Error in below situations.

1. Adding new item to a price list or discount list which already has a huge amount of data and trying to save or release it.
2. Deleting an item fro, price list or discount list which already has a huge amount of data.
3. Changing the validity date of a price list or discount list which already has a huge amount of data and trying to save or release it.
4. Opening of price list or discount list factsheet which has huge amount of data.

1. Go to the Product and Service Portfolio work center.
2. Go to the Pricing view.
3. Select the Price List subview.
4. Select any price list or discount list with huge data.
5. System shows Exception or Backend Processing error in below operations:
• Adding new item to a price list or discount list.
• Deleting an item from the price list or discount list.
• Changing the validity date of a price list or discount list and trying to save or release it.
• Opening of price list or discount list factsheet.

The Exception or Backend Processing Error occur because of huge data in the price lists/discount lists.

Note: We are planning to improve the behavior in future releases of the Business ByDesign system.

You can apply below workarounds for processing the price lists with huge data inside:

1. Break or simplify the price list based on your requirement.
• Example: Instead of adding all items to a base price list, if possible create a customer specific price lists or discount lists. This would mean breaking up or modularizing of price list. But this completely depends on how you want to maintain the price lists or discount lists.
2. Use the migration workbench. Migration excels are a good and easier way to create and update price lists and discount lists, you can find below documentation in the Help center for the migration of price/discount lists:

3. Use of the Excel upload/download functionality of price lists and discount lists. you can find below documentation in the Help Center for the migration of price/discount lists for excel upload/download functionality of price lists:
