Symptom

The upgrade of a NetWeaver 7.x system based on AS Java stops with the following error in BACKUP-UME_XX.LOG:

[Error ]: The following problem has occurred during step execution: com.sap.sdt.util.diag.DiagException: Error while
executing Task with input file UMETasks.xml and task BACKUP_UME.
Executing command getProp fail.
Return value from execution of command getProp is empty.
