1874284 - SUM: user profile modified on MAIN_SWITCH/SUBMOD_SWITCH_KERNEL/ENVFILES phase

Symptom

  • During an upgrade using the Software Update Manager (SUM) it's noticed that user profiles are modified in phase MAIN_SWITCH/SUBMOD_SWITCH_KERNEL/ENVFILES
  • SAPupConsole.log shows changes similar to this:
Substituted '../home/<sid>adm/.dbenv.csh' from '<DIR_PUT>/bin/DBENV.CSH'.
Substituted '../home/<sid>adm/.dbenv.sh' from '<DIR_PUT>/bin/DBENV.SH'.
Backup of '../home/<sid>adm/.dbenv_<hostname>.csh' written to '<DIR_PUT>/sapnames/ENVBACKUP.dbenv_<hostname>.csh'.
Removed '../home/<sid>adm/.dbenv_<hostname>.csh'.
Backup of '../home/<sid>adm/.dbenv_<hostname>.sh' written to '<DIR_PUT>/ENVBACKUP.dbenv_<hostname>.sh'.
Removed '../home/<sid>adm/.dbenv_<hostname>.sh'.
Substituted '../home/<sid>adm/.sapenv.csh' from '<DIR_PUT>/control/dbs/SAPENV.CSH'.
Substituted '../home/<sid>adm/.sapenv.sh' from '<DIR_PUT>/abap/control/dbs/SAPENV.SH'.
Backup of '../home/<sid>adm/.sapenv_<hostname>.csh' written to '/<DIR_PUT>/sapnames/ENVBACKUP.sapenv_<hostname>.csh'.
Removed '../home/<sid>adm/.sapenv_<hostname>.csh'.
Backup of '../home/<sid>adm/.sapenv_<hostname>.sh' written to '<DIR_PUT>/sapnames/ENVBACKUP.sapenv_<hostname>.sh'.
Removed '../home/<sid>adm/.sapenv_<hostname>.sh'.
