1874455 - Error message:"CHARGE%20U70%20TOP%20NO%20Prompts[1].xls::file format is not valid" while viewing a Crystal Report's instance in XLS format.

Symptom

  • Migrated Crystal Reports from a previous version to SAP BusinessI ntelligence Platform 4.0 results in the error message when trying to view the successful instances in XLS format.

    Error message:"CHARGE%20U70%20TOP%20NO%20Prompts[1].xls::file format is not valid".

Environment

  • SAP Crystal Server 2011

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in to Central Management Console (CMC).
  2. Schedule a Crystal Report with XLS format .
  3. View the successful instance of Crystal Report .
  4. The error message appears.

Cause

  • The Crystal Reports are using default server configurations.

Resolution

  1. Go to the"Servers" section in CMC home Page.
  2. Go to the "Properties" of "CrystalReportsProcessingServer" .
  3. Check both the options "share report data between clients" and "viewer refresh always yields current data"
  4. Apply the same settings on "CrystalReportsCacheServer".
  5. Now Schedule the Crystal Report with XLS format and view the successful instance.
