1876254 - Error: "Could not save to Business Objects Enterprise .Invalid property name"

Symptom


A dashboard contains flash variable having blank space word separator e.g."SAP Test". When attempting to save the dashboard to Business Objects Enterprise error message pops up:

"Could not save to Business Objects Enterprise .Invalid property name"

Environment

  • BI Platform 4.0
  • Dashboards 4.0 SP04 Patch5 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a dashboard.
  2. Add a flash variable as "SAP Test".
  3. Save the dashboard to Business Objects Platform.

Cause

The issue is due to space between two words.

Flash variable name should be comprised of only a-z, A-Z, 0-9 or -.

Resolution

Change flash variable name as SAP-Test.
