SAP Knowledge Base Article - Preview

1876512 - Huge number of Core files are getting generated in AIX system in Oracle 11g. The core files can also be generated in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs instead of core_file_dest

Symptom

  • The entries similar to the following is encountered in the Alert.log file  -:
    Exception [type: SIGSEGV, Invalid permissions for mapped object] [ADDR:0x109A22050] [PC:0x101E2C478, ksmpclrpga()+23352] [flags: 0x0, count: 1]

  • There is no similar messages in the Alert.log file but the call stack of the trace file for the core dump is similar to the following -

    pthread_kill <- p_raise <- raise <- abort <- skgdbgcra
    <- sksdbgcra <- ksdbgcra <- ssexhd <- dbgerEvaluateRules <- dbgerEvaluateRules
